It was on 5th of February,1985 that a champion named “Christiano Ronaldo dos Santos” was born in Madeira, Portugal to Maria Dolores dos Santos and Jose Dinis Aveiro. He lived in a small tin roofed house. His early days were full of struggles. His father was a gardener by profession but he was a drunkard and he died due to kidney failure. After his father’s demise, his mother was the sole bread winner of the family and she used to work as a cook and cleaning person.
His father used to work as an equipment manager at a boy’s club and it was from here that Ronaldo started getting attracted towards football. His patron Fernao Sousa remembers that he was so passionate about football that he used to leave all other things for the sake of it. Slowly and steadily, he started making his presence felt in the football world. For a short period of time, he was associated with Nacional da liha da Madeira and in the year 2001, he joined Sporting Portugal . He impressed his rivals with his footwork, when he played against Manchester United. The Manchester United players persuaded their manager to hire him for their club. Finally, the club decided to hire him by paying Ronaldo’s team around Twelve million pounds. He also, did not let down his well wishers and he scored three goals in the 2004 Fa cup final. In the year 2007, he renewed his contract with Manchester United for a period of 5 years for around Thirty million pounds. Exactly after an year, he scored 42 goals for his franchise and he was adjudged “FIFA World Player Of The Year”. He assisted his club to 3 premier league titles. In the year 2007, when he was in England, he was affected by his mother’s illness, who was suffering from breast cancer. He was hired for a whopping USD One hundred and Thirty One million by Real Madrid in the year 2009. He has also won many awards such as Ballon d’OR, the Golden Boot
and UEFA Club Forward Of The Year.
